About

My name is Patricia Walsh. I have been sewing since my teens. When I was expecting my first child in 1981, I became interested in smocking and french handsewing. In 1987 I began constructing smock and wear garments for Denham Designs. In 1990 Kathryn Denham discovered she had terminal cancer. She was 38 years old. Denham Designs was split into two companies and thus Meredith’s Closet was born.

I use mostly 100% cotton; Pimas from England, Liberty of London prints, Swiss batiste, and Feather Wale Corduroy. I also use Imperial Broadcloth, and Batiste for those of you who prefer a poly-cotton blend.

I use french seams, mother of pearl buttons, tatting, fine french laces, and swiss eyelet trims.

I do Christening dresses, flower girl dresses, school and church dresses, infant burial gowns, and boys outfits as well. I can sew to accommodate your handicapped child as well.

I use Little Memories and Maggies Classics Patterns with permission.

In case you were wondering who “Meredith” is, she is my older daughter (on the right in the photo below). The business basically started from me filling her closet with this type of clothing. Hence, “Meredith’s Closet.” Meredith graduated in 2004 from the Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in Graphic Design. She currently works as a graphic designer in Greensboro, NC.

  2. thanks. the wedding was just as it should have been-lovely. they are such a great couple. victoria has started riding horses, so we just got home!she really loves it.

  3. Yes it looked very lovely. So excited about the video and Victoria. Ashley has really bad eye sight too. She has been in contacts for a good while now. Hers is -19 and -16, with 40/60 vision with them in. She can drive during the day but it is on her drivers license no night time. She has dealt with that pretty good. She is still working at McDonalds and going to school full time. This fall she is on the Dance team at NorthWest Community College and will be staying in the dorm there. She is very excited about that. Hope it works out okay for her.
