Sympathy Cards

While I am sure there were many other things I should have been doing this weekend, I decided it was time to replenish my stock of sympathy cards. I like lining the envelopes and also stamping part of the design on the envelope, when I can. In this group of cards, I used a number of Spellbinders dies and an embossing folder. The gorgeous aqua paper with white flowers is by paper-source. It has fine lines of copper metallic going around the flowers, so I added copper brads. The paper with pink roses and black leaves is also by paper-source. I had some matching tan lighter weight paper so I made matching envelopes with my Martha Stewart scoring board. If you don’t have one, they are wonderful! The brown and cream papers are mostly stampin up. I got a set of sympathy stamps from JustRite that work with the clear ridged blocks. They really have some wonderful sentiments. They are mostly on the insides, though. I embossed the bird on the seafoam card with a paper-source embossing powder that is brown with flecks of aqua.

  1. A lovely group of Sympathy cards. I find these so difficult sometimes and prefer to do them ahead like you. I saw your comment on Carly’s chat box and just popped over to see your blog. Good luck with your blog, come and visit our challenge blog at Charisma.

  2. thanks for your comment. Hoping to make some cards this weekend!Got some stamps from Lili of the Valley and really want to make them. Unfortunately, I have already used a few of these sympathy cards….I do find it easier to make them when I am not emotionally attached to them. Got some great sentiments from justrite stamps recently. I had never used their stamps. The clear block has ridges. My sister just lost her husband, so I have been working on thank you cards she can use instead of the impersonal ones from the funeral home. Will check out the challenge blog over the weekend.
